Pink Flower

This is another one of my macro photography experiments. This is a macro of pink flower.

For this photo I used a 85 mm prime lens attached to a 49 mm extension tube. Focus is achieved by moving the whole camera close to the subject. There's a pretty shallow depth of field, so what you get is pretty much hit or miss. If you are interested in my setup and would like an inexpensive way to take some macros yourself, have a look at Take Macro Photographs on a Budget.

Category macrophotography
Settings f/5.6 1/60 sec 85.0 mm+ 49.0 mm ISO 125
Camera Canon 60D
Lens Rokinon 85mm f/1.4 Aspherical IF
Location Lee, New Hampshire

Another successful experiment, I'd say! Gorgeous capture, Roger!

And I actually know the name of this flower, because I looked it up before - it's a Geranium Sanguineum in New Hampshire Purple - http://www.missouribotanicalgarden.org/PlantFinder/PlantFinderDetails.aspx?taxonid=254256

You are amazing! I am so impressed that you actually know what kind of flower this is! I never would have guessed geranium!
